ROLLED HEM USING A SEWING MACHINE

Rolled hems are usually associated with an overlocker or serger, but it can be done on a sewing machine using an overcast foot.

The perfect finish for scarfs or tops made with fine fabrics.

This video from U Tube uses two pieces of fabric this technique can be used for

edging on a single layer.

 On the white fabric

to show how we got the effect we start with an average E stitch on a J 24.

Then the stitch length was reduced

to under 1 (test this out on your machine) to close the stitch.
